Occupational Therapy Services

At Recovery Road Home Health, our Occupational Therapy program is dedicated to addressing challenges that hinder daily tasks and creating personalized treatment plans to overcome them. We offer a range of rehabilitation programs designed to enhance independence and quality of life for our patients.

Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Services

Strength Training: We utilize resistance and flexibility exercises to improve balance, coordination, endurance, and control, helping older adults regain the strength needed for daily activities.

Transfer Training: Our therapists teach techniques for safe movement between surfaces, such as transferring in and out of chairs, showers, and toilets, incorporating wheelchairs or walking aids as needed.

Adaptive Equipment Training: We introduce specialized devices like dressing aids, long-handled bathing tools, and adapted kitchen utensils to facilitate easier performance of daily tasks.

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs): Our occupational therapists focus on restoring essential ADLs such as bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, and toileting. We also assist with IADLs including walking, pet care, meal preparation, using the phone, housework, laundry, shopping, emergency response, and medication management.

Transition to Independent Living: Upon achieving independence in daily activities, we conduct a thorough discharge evaluation to ensure our patients are fully prepared for successful independent living.
